Georgia Tech won the National Recycling Coalition’s “Outstanding College or University Program” annual award at the organization’s annual Congress & Expo. Above: Cindy Jackson, manager of the Office of Waste Management and Recycling, receives the award in September from NRC President David Refkin. Below: Howard S. Wertheimer, director of Capital Planning & Space Management, (right) receives a plaque from Princeton Review vice president and publisher Robert Franek. Tech was among 11 colleges receiving the nation’s highest scores in a Green Survey by The Princeton Review, which rated colleges for having the leading environmental programs most relevant to students.
