Groundbreaking held for practice facility

1969 alumnus Stephen Zelnak attended the April 9 groundbreaking for the Zelnak Center, a 20,000-square-foot practice facility for Tech’s men’s and women’s basketball teams. His donation was the lead gift of the $8.5 million facility, scheduled to be completed in October. Praising the Institute’s “student-athletes,” Zelnak said this was a way to help teams schedule practices in a way to help academically, not just athletically. “We thought this was a place where we could make a difference,” he said.
