Retirees to catch up with colleagues, hear insights on economic mythologyThe 15th annual Faculty/Staff Retiree Luncheon will provide attendees with not only an update on the Faculty/Staff Fund and an overview of The Campaign for Georgia Tech, but also some insight into Economic Mythology: The Budget Surplus and the Social Security Crisis. The insight will be provided by this years speaker, Mack Moore, professor emeritus in economics. The luncheon will be held on March 25 at 11:30 a.m. in the Alumni/Faculty House. Moore holds a bachelor of business administration in management from Georgia State University, a masters in economics from the University of Tennessee, and a doctorate in economics from the University of Wisconsin. Moore, a Georgia native, has been with Georgia Tech since 1963. He is the author of Descendants of John Moore (Revolutionary War Soldier) and Mary Keller Moore: An Economic Genealogy, as well as numerous articles appearing in the Labor Law Journal, Georgia Professional Engineer and newspapers throughout the state. He has also been interviewed numerous times on area radio stations and TV news programs speaking on topics including rapid transit, the state of the economy, inflation and unemployment Rich Combes, chair of the Faculty/Staff Fund for the 52nd Roll Call, will host the event. We are always glad to welcome back faculty and staff who, over the years, have contributed so much to Georgia Tech, Combes said.
